When you hear the words "service dog," most people think of a guide dog for the visually impaired or a dog that performs tasks for someone who is paralyzed. However, service dogs can also serve those with invisible needs, which causes a lot of confusion for the public and businesses.
In this episode, host Amy Castro talks with two disability experts, Elisa Hayes and Donna Mack, about what constitutes a service dog according to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the governing body that defines "service dog" and what allowances and accommodations must be provided for those who have them.
